Scouting report * The Cardinals haven't lost a season series to the Brewers in seven years but they must win all three of the games in this series to gain a 10-9 edge this year. Milwaukee has won five of the first seven games played at Busch Stadium this year.

Domingo Santana needs one homer to join Travis Shaw and Eric Thames as a 30-homer hitter. The Brewers have done that just once before. Gorman Thomas, Ben Oglivie and Cecil Cooper surpassed the 30 mark in 1982 when "Harvey's Wallbangers," named for manager Harvey Kuenn, won the American League championship and lost the World Series to the Cardinals here in seven games.

The Brewers have spent 65 days in first place and 75 in second place in the National League Central this year after losing 89 games last year. …
