FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta. x-10s. The union representing thousands of workers at Suncor's northeastern Alberta oilsands operations says it's disappointed in a decision from the Alberta Court of Appeal on random drug and alcohol testing in the workplace. Unifor says the policy is an invasion of privacy and the majority of an arbitration tribunal agreed with that view in 2014. But the tribunal's decision was quashed in the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench last year and Unifor appealed. Ken Smith, president of Unifor Local 707-A, says the union is figuring out its next steps.
