The jury has been selected for the trial of three men charged in the 2013 Lac-Megantic train derailment.

The ten men and six women were picked from among 300 candidates.

Three former railway employees -- train driver Thomas Harding, traffic controller Richard Labrie and manager of train operations Jean Demaitre -- have all pleaded not guilty to one count of criminal negligence causing death.

Forty-seven people died and part of the Quebec town was destroyed when oil-laden train cars derailed and caught fire.

The trial is scheduled to begin Monday. (18)

The wives of the three fallen officers were in the packed Moncton courtroom for the verdicts.

The force was acquitted on two other counts and a fourth count was not proceeded with.

In a statement issued from R-C-M-P headquarters in Ottawa, the force says it will review the decision and consider the next steps. (18)
