Heartless Thieves Take Laptops from Nursery

HEARTLESS thieves stole laptops, cameras, tablets and money after breaking into a children's nursery in Oldham.

The break-in took place at Stepping Stones Private Day Nursery in Uppermill overnight on Wednesday.

Staff arrived to open up on Thursday morning to find the premises had been ransacked.

According to a nursery worker, the offenders forced open a kitchen window and took a number of high value items, including laptops, cameras and tablets.

An internal door was also damaged. The value of the stolen items is not yet known. The nursery was forced to close on Thursday while police investigations took place and repairs were carried out, but re-opened as normal yesterday.

Staff posted a message on the nursery's Facebook page to warn residents and other local businesses to be on their guard.

It read: "Sadly after a high increase of businesses being targeted in Uppermill, we were broken into last night. We've had computer equipment and cash etc stolen. We've got tidied up now. …
