WOMEN like me who were born in the 1950s have frankly been treated like dirt by successive governments.

There are 3.4 million ladies in this country who, without putting too fine a point on it, have been trod upon by successive governments.

We are the ladies who started work in the 1970s - no equal pay or fairness for women then!

We worked all our lives and paid our National Insurance in the expectation we would retire at 60. Made all our financial plans where we could, to receive our pension at 60.

I NEVER received any written notice to say my state pension was to be increased.

The first I heard was in 2013 when I wrote myself to DWP to see what my pension was going to be in 2015 when I was due to retire. …
