PAUL Scholes has been interviewed for the Oldham manager's job.

M.E.N. Sport understands that club officials met with the United legend and his agent at an undisclosed location yesterday morning to discuss the role.

Scholes is up against another former United man, Richie Wellens, to land the top job at the club following the departure of John Sheridan.

Former Holland star Clarence Seedorf has also been interviewed for the job at the League One club.

Wellens, who has won all three matches in charge since taking over from Sheridan on a temporary basis, will take charge of Oldham for their home match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and is also a leading contender for the role himself having attracted the backing of his players following the winning run.
