JOSE Mourinho has questioned former players' comments about the Anfield atmosphere and has described matches there as 'beautiful'.

A number of ex-footballers have spoken of their memories of the fixture in the build-up to today's huge clash, including Mikael Silvestre who made his United debut at Anfield in 1999 and said it was like playing in 'hell' at Liverpool's ground.

And Gary Neville said he was never 'excited' about making the trip down the East Lancs Road.

Mourinho has suffered two Champions League semi-final defeats at Liverpool but inflicted a 4-1 defeat on them with Chelsea in 2005 and sparked their demoralising title collapse with a resilient 2-0 win in 2014.

Speaking at his pre-Liverpool press conference, the United manager insists he is looking forward to the 'beautiful' atmosphere at Anfield. …
