KDB Set to Open Talks on Improved City Deal

KEVIN de Bruyne is set to open talks over an improved contract at City.

The Belgian international has been in outstanding form this season, prompting his agent to suggest he will seek a pay increase to put him in line with Neymar's salary of around £550,000-a-week at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old still has four years to run on his current deal, but City do not want to give any encouragement to European rivals alerted to his performances under Pep Guardiola.

Director of football Txiki Begiristain is due to meet with De Bruyne's agent Patrick de Koster to discuss new terms.

De Bruyne confirmed: "My agent went already one time to Txiki.

"Talks are coming. I'm patient anyway, I don't stress it. I think I read something in the press (about it) but I have time. …
