Once again PG reporters seem to want to make the news instead of reporting it. Jason Mackeychronicled on the front page, above the fold, the Pittsburgh Penguins' visit to the White House ("White House Visit Steers Clear of Politics," Oct. 11). Hepainfully noted, "They [the Penguins] got President Donald Trump to stay on script."Then, unable to find anything else volatile, he wrote, "the only thing remotely political came when Mr. Trump needled Penguins co-owner Ron Burkle ... joking that he'd love to have him in his Cabinet."

In a second piece in the Sports section, however, Mr. Mackeyinitiated another story - getting a chance to voice his opinion - speaking about Penguins coach Mike Sullivan and subsequently telling us "Sullivan and the Penguins know full well people are upset they attended the ceremony and didn't opt out as some form of protest" ("Sullivan Says Visit Unpolitical From Start," Oct. …
