Jet Passenger Admits He Groped Seatmate

A Mt. Lebanon man who admitted on Monday in federal court that he groped a woman on an airplane earned a warning from a no-nonsense judge.

"You'd better walk the straight and narrow because if you don't I will give you as much time as I can," U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton told Wei-Ming Shi, 58.

Mr. Shi pleaded to simple assault and will be sentenced March 16.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Kaufman said Mr. Shi fondled the woman on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Pittsburgh on Aug. 18, 2016.

Mr. Kaufman said the man reached beneath her dress, although not beneath her underwear, and touched her inner thigh and buttocks as she slept. When she woke up, she told a flight attendant and had her seat changed.
