THIS IS HOW SHE DO * Nobody likes a wedding crasher unless that crasher is a bona fide pop idol.

In town for a concert date, crooner Katy Perry hopped down Saturday night from her superstar suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown St. Louis to crash the wedding party of Hayley Rosenblum and B. Wayne "Blonie" Dudney. Dudney is an ophthalmologist who practices at Retina Associates of St. Louis.

Perry was in town for a performance Sunday night at Scottrade Center, part of her "Witness" tour. Visiting the party for about 10 minutes, reports note, the star danced a number with the wedding couple before heading out.

FRONTIER WOMAN * Dr. Mae C. Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel into space, will be in STL on Wednesday.

Jemison, who now serves as an ambassador for Bayer U.S. "Making Science Make Sense" program, will appear from 10 a.m. to noon at the St. Louis Science Center's McDonnell Planetarium.

She will speak to third- and fourth-grade students about her journey from inner-city Chicago to being part of the Space Shuttle Endeavor crew in September 1992. Her current mission is to encourage young students, especially girls, to embrace science and math classes.

Along with her astronautical feats, Jemison also is a physician and a chemical engineer.

CENTERED FIELDER * Willie McGee was a player with many fans, but a man of few words during his career with the St. Louis Cardinals.

So that raises the curiosity quotient now that word has spread that "No. 51" will be the keynote speaker Nov. 9 at the annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes St. Louis Dinner Gala at the Frontenac Hilton.

Former Redbird hurler Rick Horton also will talk at the event, as will several student-athletes. Horton is now a Fox Sports Midwest broadcaster.

Horton said that McGee "will share a different side of his career" during his time at the microphone. …
