Legendary Coach Hurley Banquet's Keynote Speaker

Bob Hurley, NorthJersey.com's Sports Awards guest speaker, served as head boys basketball coach at Jersey City's St. Anthony High School for 45 years.

Combined with his years as an assistant coach, he was at the school for 50 years.

With the recent news that St. Anthony will be closing its doors at the end of this school year, Hurley closes that part of his career with an astounding 1,185-125 record.

He led the Friars to 28 N.J. State Parochial titles, four National titles (1989, 1996, 2008, 2011) and eight undefeated seasons (1974, 1989, 1996, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2016). Over 150 of his players went on to play Division I basketball, all on full scholarship.

In August 2010, Hurley was just the second high school coach in history to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. …
