Woman Accidentally Uses Adhesive Instead of Eyedrops

Police responded to a call from a woman on Wednesday morning who accidentally used cyanoacrylate adhesive, also known as Super Glue or Krazy Glue, in her eye instead of eye drops.

Pompton Lakes police responded to a 9 a.m. call from a 27-year-old Vernon woman after she used the fast-drying adhesive in her eye, according to Wanaque Police Department Capt. Kenneth Fackina.

Fackina said the woman had stopped on Union Avenue in Haskell and grabbed the bottle of glue by mistake rather than eye drops. When officers arrived on the scene, the woman had already removed her contact and was flushing it out with water.

"She was in pain," Fackina said.

The police contacted Poison Control, which advised flushing out the eye. She refused further medical attention and transport to a local hospital, according to Fackina. …
