Enterprise Holdings' Revenue Grows 6.5 Percent to $22.3 Billion

In the decade since acquiring National Car Rental and Alamo Rent a Car, Enterprise Holdings' revenue and fleet size have more than doubled.

Clayton-based Enterprise, which also operates Enterprise Rent-A-Car, cited those milestones in announcing the company's total revenue grew 6.5 percent in its fiscal year that ended July 31 to $22.3 billion.

The revenue figure also includes its affiliate Enterprise Fleet Management. Privately held Enterprise, which has grown to 100,000 employees in 90 countries and territories worldwide, does not release net income figures.

The world's largest rental company's fleet totals nearly 1.9 million vehicles, up from 909,000 a decade ago when its annual revenue was $9.5 billion. Boosted by the National and Alamo brands in 2007, its market share at airports grew from 28 percent a decade ago to 38 percent this year. …
