Hackensack Swears in Board of Ed Members

HACKENSACK - Three people, including two incumbents, were sworn in to the Board of Education at Tuesday night's organization meeting.

"I wish the best of luck to our new trustee and our reelected trustees," said Veronica Bolcik McKenna in her first meeting as a former board member. "It's, as I've always said, the most difficult volunteer job that you will ever fill. And the most important one."

In last week's school election, board members Johanna Calle and Robin Coles were re-elected to the Board of Education along with Leila Amirhamzeh, who will be serving her first term on the board. McKenna did not seek reelection.

Calle, Coles and Amirhamzeh ran on the Team Hackensack slate against Patrick Chimelozonam Allagoa. Calle received 468 votes, Coles received 467 and Amirhamzeh received 325. Allagoa received 199 votes.

The two selected posts of board president and board vice president remained the same. …
