NAT011 - (Right-Whale-Deaths) HALIFAX. x-21s. Researchers at an international meeting on North Atlantic right whales in Halifax say drastic measures are needed to ensure the survival of the endangered species. The recent deaths of 15 right whales off the coasts of Canada and the U-S was front and centre at the North Atlantic Right Whale Consortium's annual meeting in Halifax on Sunday. Scott Kraus of the New England Aquarium in Boston says if the rate of decline continues, the species could go extinct within two to three decades. ("..conservation solutions.")
