Saskatoon jail sees inmate escape, another attacked

SASKATOON - Two inmates at Saskatoon Correctional Centre are facing charges of aggravated assault after an inmate was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice spokesperson Drew Wilby says the inmate was taken out of the prison in medical distress around 11:30 a.m. Monday; as of Tuesday afternoon, the victim remained in critical condition.

Wilby said charges were laid against Raven Constant and Nathan Ermine after review of video in the cells.

It was the second incident at the jail -- on Tuesday, an inmate escaped from his guards while at a funeral north of Prince Albert, Sask.

Frederick Frank Frenchman, who is 24, has black hair and brown eyes and is described as standing five-feet-11 and weighing 163 pounds. …
