Starting time: 12:30 p.m.

New to the group: Mountain Lakes and Park Ridge/Emerson.

Last year's champions: James Draney of Bogota and the Bogota team (Jared Cooper and the Mountain Lakes team won North 2, group 2 last year).

Top returning runners: Cameron Gec, Wallkill Valley (2nd); Anthony Christiana, Hopatcong (7th); Thomas Hanisch, Wallkill Valley (10th). How the race will go: Mountain Lakes will breeze to victory and Hopatcong and Pompton Lakes can qualify with big races. Jared Cooper is the favorite and Jake Cooper (no relation) can be a factor.

Group 2

New to the group: Dover, Dwight Morrow, Garfield, Lenape Valley and Morris Tech.

Last year's champions: NV/Demarest and Ty Miller, NV/Demarest.
