The Russia investigation has struck its first blows against Donald Trump's presidency.

His former campaign manager and an aide were arrested on numerous charges, and a lower-level adviser has admitted to communicating with intermediaries of the Putin government about stolen emails.

Ex-campaign manager Paul Manafort has pleaded not guilty as he and another senior campaign aide, Rick Gates were slapped with a dozen criminal charges.

Gates also pleads not guilty.

Former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to lying to F-B-I agents about his connections to people who claimed to have ties to the Russian government. (16)

More members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's cabinet have personal financial arrangements similar to Finance Minister Bill Morneau, who got accused of a conflict of interest.

Fisheries Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould and Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi are using so-called conflict-of-interest screens, a step short of a blind trust.

Morneau recently announced he's selling off some of his shares in his company and putting others assets into a blind trust after not doing so when he was elected two years ago.

He had said the ethics commissioner told him he did not have to. (16)

The Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman and Girls has heard from the mother of one victim that police took interest in her daughter's case only when they thought she was white.

Loretta Saunders' mother Meriam told the inquiry in Cape Breton when police learned her daughter was Inuk she could not get any more answers.

Forty witnesses are expected to testify during three days of hearings at Membertou First Nation.

Loretta Saunders' body was found at the side of a New Brunswick highway in February 2014, leading to murder convictions against Halifax residents Blake Leggette and his girlfriend Victoria Henneberry. …
