Giants Draft in Wilson in Bid to End Horror Run

MANCHESTER Giants have moved to address their poor start to the BBL season by bringing in former Sheffield man Ryan Wilson.

Coach Danny Byrne secured the small forward following his departure from the Yorkshire side after seeing the 6ft 5ins 29-year-old play against the Giants in pre-season.

His arrival coincides with guard Harold Trobo leaving the club.

Wilson, from St Louis, Missouri, graduated from William Penn University in 2012 and played in Spain, Italy, Holland and Ireland before moving to the Sharks in the summer.

Giants have fallen to six straight defeats at the start of the 2017/18 campaign but Wilson said: "The reason I signed with the Giants is because of coach Danny and the players.

"Coach was so open and honest about everything with me and liked my game. I've had a genuine feeling that I can be myself around him and speak to him on any issue, not just basketball, and for me that is important. …
