Bald-Headed O'Fallon, Mo., Officers Turn Those Blank Canvases into Halloween Art

O'FALLON, Mo. * They say work with what you've got. This Halloween, the O'Fallon Police Department did just that.

"We realized we have a lot of officers that are ... follicly challenged," said Sgt. Robert Kendall, who runs the department's social media pages. "So we thought this was a great opportunity."

Kendall was tasked with creating some seasonal community outreach messages around the holiday when his wife, Alyson Kendall, pointed out that all the bald heads in the department would make the perfect canvas for one thing: pumpkins.

So Sgt. Kendall sent an email out to a roundup of shiny-headed officers. Six were off from work the same afternoon and agreed to the scheme.

All six heads were painted like jack-o'-lanterns (with washable paint.)

"They got really into it. They came up with poses on their own," Kendall said. "Where else are you going to see six police officers stacked in a pumpkin pyramid? That was a first."

Another officer got on the ground and imitated a pumpkin lying in the grass. …
