A COUPLE who were stumped when a mystery firm covered their home in scaffolding have finally found the culprits.

Chris Evans and partner Liggy Webb were left puzzled when they came back to their Stockport terrace house three weeks ago to find a giant frame erected outside.

They turned detective and asked around, but no one had any idea who put it up outside their home, on Carmichael Street in Edgeley.

Chris even spent a week phoning every scaffolding firm in the phone book to find out who was responsible.

The 44-year-old contacted the M.E.N. in the hope of spreading the word.

Luckily, a canny neighbour spotted the story - and found out who it was.

Knowing his nephew had been erecting scaffolding around the area, the neighbour contacted him to see if he was responsible. And he was.

The firm pitched up the next day to take it down. …
