The Topeka Police Department is asking for feedback from the community as it undergoes recertification from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

A public information session will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Law Enforcement Center, 320 S. Kansas Ave. The public is invited to offer comments, Lt. Colleen Stuart said.

People can also provide feedback by calling (785) 368-9551 from 1-3 p.m. Monday.

Public statements and phone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. According to CALEA's website, the accreditation program examines a range of topics, including ethics, use of reasonable force, recruiting and training.
