Let's be honest. The promised "tax reform" now in front of the U.S. House is disproportionately tilted to vastly benefit the well-to-do and corporations.

No sense complaining - elections have consequences. This bill almost certainly will pass without Democratic input. Unless ... rather than grandstanding and hand-wringing, the Democrats choose to take a different path: compromise.

This massive, permanent give-back to corporations already enjoying record-setting profits and to the already-wealthy must also include benefits for working-class America.

You know what a real "win" for the American middle class, lower class and poverty class would be? Raising the national minimum wage to $16 an hour. Many economists believe that, when adjusted for inflation and worker productivity, a 2017 minimum wage should sit just north of $20 an hour - if extrapolated over 30-plus years of "trickle-down" economics. …
