HALIFAX. x-15s. The Nova Scotia government is increasing availability of treatment for people who are misusing potent painkillers. The province announced today that 800-thousand dollars committed in the recent Liberal budget will be used to create 250 additional spots in treatment programs for opioid abuse. Dr. Sam Hickcox, a family physician and addictions specialist, says expanding available spots for treatment is vital.
