P02 - (Pot-Tax) OTTAWA. x-14s. The federal government is out with its tax scheme for legalized marijuana. The proposed levy would add one dollar, or 10 per cent to the final retail price charged, plus G-S-T, and split the revenues equally with the provinces and territories. Bill Blair, the parliamentary secretary to both the justice and health ministers, says consultations on the tax proposals will wrap up in a few weeks, just before federal and provincial finance ministers meet to talk about the scheme.
