People who can't make it to the Kansas Expocentre's Agriculture Hall for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner may still be able to get one of the free meals, but they'll have to act fast.

Home deliveries for the dinners are available to those who can't get to Ag Hall, but orders must be phoned in by noon Friday by calling (785) 295-3998. Those calling will be asked to provide their name, address and phone number. Meal requests are limited to one per person and three total per household.

The dinner, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Day, at Ag Hall, S.W. 17th and Tyler.

Around 1,000 people turn out for the meal, with another 1,500 dinners delivered by to area residents.

The meal is carried out entirely by volunteers and is organized by the Community Thanksgiving Dinner Foundation. …
