HALIFAX x-18s. Hundreds of people gathered at Halifax City Hall to say bon voyage to a tree. The 16-metre Christmas tree is Nova Scotia's annual gift to the city of Boston -- a thank-you for help the city offered after the 1917 Halifax Explosion. Halifax resident Robert Young came to the ceremony with his six-year-old son Jack. He says they wanted to see the big spruce before it was carried off to Boston on a flat-bed truck.
