By STUART BRENNAN PEP Guardiola has revealed why he has stopped playing Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the same team.

The two City strikers started the season by playing five of the first six games together - and smashed in ten goals between them.

Even when Pep Guardiola changed the system from 3-5-2 after bringing in Benjamin Mendy at left-back, he kept them together by playing Jesus on the right-hand side of a front three.

That system was devastating as City beat Liverpool 5-0, Feyenoord 4-0 away and Watford 6-0 - and then Mendy suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament.

That moment changed everything in terms of team selection, as it meant Fabian Delph being drafted in - a player who has been a huge success defensively but does not offer the attacking dynamism and width of Mendy. …
