UNITED target Danny Rose was omitted from Tottenham's Premier League squad at Arsenal after he was deemed not fit enough.

The 27-year-old trained with other Tottenham players overlooked by coach Mauricio Pochettino, while the first-team lost 2-0 at The Emirates Stadium.

Rose made his comeback from an eight-month lay-off in October - but has since made just three starts for club and country.

Despite getting minutes on international duty, Pochettino was not satisfied with his level of fitness for the North London derby.

"He was training," Pochettino said. "Like [Erik] Lamela. After nearly one year out, they need to build their fitness, no?" Despite Pochettino's justification for Rose's absence, the Argentinian's reservations about Kyle Walker's durability eventually led to the right-back moving to City in the summer. …
