PUB sitcom Early Doors is returning as a live stage show next year.

Set in Stockport boozer The Grapes, the BBC Two show first aired in 2003 and ran for 12 episodes across two series, written by and starring Craig Cash and Phil Mealey.

Now - 14 years after it was last on TV - the pair will reprise their roles as pub regulars, Joe and Duffy, for Early Doors Live, which promises a 'brand new story, same old regulars'.

John Henshaw will return as put-upon landlord Ken, alongside original cast mates Joan Kempson as lazy cleaner Winnie, James Quinn as crooked copper Phil and Lisa Millett as pub regular Debbie in the all-new storyline.

Ken's got love on his mind, but will barmaid, Tanya, ring the landlord's bell? Old Tommy would play Cupid - if only he didn't have IBS (Irritable B*gger's Syndrome).

Crime is on the rise but fear not, as local cops Phil and Nige are getting stuck in. …
