FLORHAM PARK – It's looking more and more like former Wayne Hills star Greg Olsen will be close to home when he returns from injury.

Olsen, the Panthers' tight end, hasn't played since suffering a fractured foot in Week 2. But Olsen returned to practice this week and coach Ron Rivera said Wednesday that he's on track to play against the Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

"He had a good day of practice [Wednesday]," Rivera said. "We'll see how he is [Thursday] and then we'll gauge things from there. But he's on the path to being their Sunday, but you never know how these next days are after practice. He's going to practice more and more each day and just see how he is the next morning."

This was the first week that Olsen is eligible to return via the short-term injured reserve designation. …
