I AM writing this letter of complaint out of sheer temper as I went to the Remembrance service as normal to Cheadle Hulme Cenotaph.

I got there 10.30am and quite a few other people were there - all looking puzzled when we saw the wreathes had been placed already and were informed the service had already been taken place at 9.30am.

What happened to the minute's silence at 11am - and telling local people about the change of our customs once again? There was a notice board there but nothing was on about the change of plans.

When the council wants us to vote for them leaflets are put through the doors.

I am really disgusted about it all. Pauline Gregory, Cheadle Hulme Give disabled more respect I AM a woman who will be 73 next month. I have osteoarthritis of the spine and hips. My son is my fulltime carer as I cannot get up the stairs to use the toilet, have a bath or sleep in my bed.

I have to wash in a bowl in the kitchen, use a commode in the lobby, and try to sleep on my sofa.

It is too painful to lie down for too long on the sofa, I have to try and sleep sitting up, which is almost impossible most of the time. I therefore sleep very little.

I was assessed for a stairlift and a wet room by a social worker, who agreed I needed them, so I could live a decent life.

However, the person who decides if you get the adaptations refused me three times, and offered me rehousing instead.

I have lived in this house for 40 years next year, and put quite a bit of money into my home over that time. Because I said I didn't want to move, they have refused me the adaptations I so desperately need.

I have friends and family close-by on this estate, who are a great support system.

I feel very strongly about this. I think people like me get the shortend of the stick. …
