A PRAM-pushing grandad was punched in the face after asking a dogwalker to put his pet on a lead.

The 65-year-old was walking through a park with his infant grandchild when the 'outrageous' attack took place.

Police say a grey and white schnauzer began sniffing around the pram. But when the grandad asked for the dog to be put on a lead, a 'dispute' broke out and he was punched twice in the face by the animal's owner in Egerton Park, off Blackburn Road, Bolton.

Pc Frazer Todd, of GMP's Bolton borough, said: "This was an outrageous assault on a man as he walked through Egerton Park.

"He was simply out for a walk with his grandchild before he found himself being assaulted over a dispute about whether the dog should have been on a lead. …
