Sanogo Sparks Seton Hall to Decisive Win against Vanderbilt

NEW YORK - You won't see his name in headlines or highlight clips. Ish Sanogo scored four points in Seton Hall basketball's 72-59 win over Vanderbilt on Friday. But, perhaps more than any player in recent program history, the senior forward can alter a game without hitting a shot.

The NIT Season Tip-Off consolation at the Barclays Center was a case-in-point. Sanogo got his first start of the season and tallied eight rebounds and four blocks while anchoring a defense that held the Commodores scoreless for a decisive 11-minute stretch.

"Ish sets the tone on defense," said senior wing Desi Rodriguez, who scored a game-high 27 points. "He's helping everyone. Even when he's not supposed to be there, he's there. It takes the weight off our shoulders, the guards and Angel (Delgado). That's why we consider Ish the best defender in the country. …
