VINCENT Kompany has delivered an icy blast to his red-hot City team-mates.

The Blues extended their record winning streak to 18 with a 2-1 win at Huddersfield on Sunday to maintain an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

And with media pundits queuing up to hand the title to the Blues with 25 games still to play, skipper Kompany hit the players with a hard dose of reality.

"After 15 years at this level the one thing you know and learn is you do not crown yourself champions in November," said Kompany, who remembers they were five points clear of United at this stage in 2011, and nearly blew it.

The defender flagged up home games against Southampton tomorrow and West Ham on Sunday as crucial, saying: "I tell you what, the biggest challenge for us now is to go back home and say 'the next game, let's do it again and do it again'. …
