Funeral Services Set for Sabetha Family Members

Funeral services have been set for three Sabetha family members who were killed Saturday night in a crash on US-75 highway in northern Jackson County.

Stephen M. Ukele, 62, Marlee G. Ukele, 11, and Carmen K. (Baumgartner) Ukele, 42, were killed about 8:05 p.m. Saturday when the minivan they were in collided with an SUV that was trying to pass another vehicle on the two-lane highway.

Steve Ukele's funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Sabetha First United Methodist Church. Internment will be at Albany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sabetha Kids Wrestling Club or Sabetha First United Methodist Church, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary.
