Frazier Weighs in on Schiano and Rutgers

PISCATAWAY – Todd Frazier is a New Jersey legend, part of which lies in his time at Rutgers.

Frazier's tenure in Piscataway (2005-07) coincided with that of former football coach Greg Schiano, who was embroiled in the Tennessee football coaching fiasco over the weekend.

With Frazier home and at the RAC on Tuesday to watch the basketball team take on Florida State, it stood to reason someone would want his thoughts on the matter.

"I didn't know him that well to be honest with you," Frazier said. "I know he was a great football coach. At the end of the day, I think Tennessee wanted a football coach, but with the social media today, there's always going to be some backlash, good or bad.

"You gotta take what you can get."

Frazier, who is a free agent after spending most of last season with the Yankees, declined to answer any baseball questions, but was more than happy to discuss Rutgers. He spent his evening seated along the baseline nearest the home bench next to athletic director Pat Hobbs. …
