TORONTO. x-13s. Leaders from a Northern Ontario First Nation are urging the federal and Ontario governments to commit to building and funding a mercury treatment centre in their community. Grassy Narrows has been plagued by mercury contamination for decades. Ontario has put $85 million to remediating the contamination and the federal government has committed to a feasibility study for a treatment centre, Chief Simon Fobister says more needs to be done.
