State AG wants answers about Uber's massive data breach

Following Uber's massive data breach that left 57 million accounts vulnerable in October 2016 - which also went unreported for over a year - Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is demanding additional information from the embattled ride-hailing company. Private information from at least 600,000 Uber drivers in the U.S. and 13,000 drivers in Pennsylvania was compromised as a result of the hack. Uber's response will enable the attorney general's office to determine if Uber violated Pennsylvania's Breach of Personal Information Notification Act in its delayed notification to drivers.
