Kansas to Make Many Hunting, Fishing Licenses Valid for 365 Days from Date of Purchase, Add Auto-Enroll Feature

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism on Wednesday announced a new auto-renew feature for the purchase of hunting and fishing licenses that will be available for 2018, as well as a change in how long certain licenses will remain valid.

License buyers will be able to opt in or opt out of the auto-renew feature at the time of purchasing or any time after purchasing their license through their online KDWPT account. More information on the auto-renew system will be available at http://www.ksoutdoors.com/auto-renew.

Many annual licenses and permits also will become valid for 365 days from the date of purchase, rather than expiring on Dec. 31 each year. License buyers will have the option of receiving email reminders before their licenses expire, or can enroll in the auto-renew option if they don't want to worry about remembering when to renew. …
