B-C's attorney general is expressing shock after charges were stayed in a high-profile case involving the execution-style slaying of six men in Surrey.

Jamie Bacon was accused of the first-degree murder of 21-year-old Corey Lal, one of six people murdered in a highrise apartment in 2007.

The B-C Supreme Court decision granted a defence request that the charges not be proceeded with in the so-called Surrey Six case.

Attorney General David Eby calls the ruling incredibly disappointing.

Much of the evidence and reasons for the decision were sealed by the court.

Eby says he's confident the B-C Prosecution Service will review the decision and find an avenue of appeal soon. (19)

(Sportsnet-Zaun-Fired)

Two Sportsnet employees are speaking out the day after baseball analyst Gregg Zaun was shown the door due to ''inappropriate behaviour and comments.''

Neither of the women who spoke with The Canadian Press filed complaints against Zaun, but say they felt they were expected to ''deal with'' Zaun's offensive remarks.

They talk about an offensive workplace environment where sexist comments are tolerated, and they feared speaking up.

The 46-year-old Zaun -- who was a catcher for the Blue Jays from 2004 to 2008 -- did not immediately return multiple requests for comment made through his representatives, his website or LinkedIn account. (19)

Where is Harvey Weinstein?

Nobody seems to know.

But a judge has ruled a lawsuit brought by an Ontario actress against the disgraced Hollywood producer can be considered served even though lawyers haven't been able to hand it to him in person.

The actress, who cannot be named, claims Weinstein sexually assaulted her while she was working on a movie filmed in Toronto nearly two decades ago.

She seeks millions of dollars in damages, claiming she has suffered mental distress, social anxiety and depression. …
