SALFORD CITY extended their lead at the top of the National League North to nine points after a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Blyth Spartans on Saturday.

Jack Redshaw got the only goal of the game shortly after the half hour mark to earn his side all three points at Croft Park.

FC UNITED player-manager Tom Greaves became the club's all-time leading scorer during his side's dramatic 3-2 win over Harrogate Town.

The match was level at 1-1 heading into the closing stages, after Jack Vann's opener for Harrogate was cancelled out by FC United's Craig Lindfield.

Greaves put his team 2-1 up when he netted on 83 minutes, before grabbing his side's third goal in the 90th minute to bag his 100th goal for the club.

Harrogate pulled a late goal back through Simon Ainge, but it wasn't enough as FC United held on to earn the win and move up to 15th place. …
