BERGENFIELD – A stolen Honda SUV, whose driver led police on a midnight chase through Bergen County, was found empty early Monday morning in a small parking lot off Howard Drive, according to police.

An hour after authorities found the car, they arrested Edward Arnold, 29, of Bergenfield for allegedly trying to hide two gold rings in a Walgreens toilet. Authorities say the rings were in the Honda when it was stolen, according to a statement from the Bergenfield Police Department.

The Walgreens, on Washington Avenue, is less than a quarter-mile from the lot in which police found the Honda. Bergenfield police did not see Arnold in the car, Capt. Mustafa Rabboh said. But they were sweeping it for evidence, like fingerprints, that could tie Arnold to the theft or the chase. …
