PEP Guardiola has been cleared to be on the touchline for Sunday's clash against United after the FA decided to take no action following his confrontation with Nathan Redmond.

The City manager was asked on Friday to explain his actions that immediately followed the dramatic 2-1 win against Southampton last week.

Guardiola put his arm around Redmond's neck and poked him on the chest while aggressively making a point as the player left the pitch.

Both he and the player later confirmed his comments were complimentary, but the FA still asked for observations.

Had they decided to punish the Catalan - who admitted he regretted his actions - he could have been handed a touchline ban.

But City learned on Monday that no further action would be taken, though Guardiola has been reminded of his responsibilities.
