High School Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges

A teacher at Memorial High School in West New York was arrested by East Rutherford police and charged with drug possession.

East Rutherford police responded to Kenneth Furlong's residence at Monarch Apartments on Nov. 29 for an unknown incident, said Chief Dennis Rivelli.

Following an investigation, Furlong, 24, is facing several drug charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of marijuana over 50 grams.

Furlong turned himself in to the East Rutherford Police Department with his attorney and was taken to the Bergen County Jail. Police are still investigating, Rivelli said.

Furlong is a former quarterback with the Memorial High School football team. …
