NEITHER City nor United's FA Cup third round ties will be televised live.

But either the Blues' clash with fellow Premier League side Burnley or the Reds' tie with Championship Derby County will likely still have to be moved away from the current 3pm Saturday afternoon slot on police advice with both sides having been drawn at home.

The decision of the broadcasters not to show United brings an end to the club's 58-match run of televised FA Cup ties.

It's the first time they won't be shown live in the competition since January 2005, when Sir Alex Ferguson's side drew 0-0 at home to Exeter City in the third round.

The third round Merseyside derby at Anfield will kick-off the weekend's live action on the BBC on Friday, January 5.

Saturday's action will see Leicester face a potential banana skin at either Fleetwood Town or Hereford, kicking off at 12. …
