CITY have been installed as the new favourites to win the Champions League following the draw for the last 16 of the competition.

The Blues will face 250-1 outsiders Basel when the knockout phase of the competition resumes in February and March.

And with big guns Paris St Germain and holders Real Madrid facing each other, as well as Chelsea and Barcelona squaring off, City's odds have been slashed to 11-4. The furthest the Blues have ever got in the competition was the semi-final in 2016, when they lost 1-0 on aggregate to Real Madrid.

The Blues have never faced Swiss champions Basel, but got a close look at them when they faced United in the group phase. The Reds beat them 3-0 at Old Trafford before losing to a late goal in the away game.

City's director of football Txiki Begiristain, however, has warned it will not be an easy tie. …
