'Food Paradise' from Travel Channel Makes Second Visit to the City

It may not be Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown," but it is another Pittsburgh TV close-up, with this week marking the second round of filming for the Travel Channel's "Food Paradise."

Following a visit earlier this fall, the network is scheduled to be back, filming at Bigham Tavern at 321 Bigham St. on Mount Washington on Wednesday when the bar and kitchen will open later - 3 p.m. instead of 11 a.m. The Travel Channel visited Pittsburgh back in October, with segments filmed at Pork & Beans, Downtown and Church Brew Works in Lawrenceville.

Film crews will remain on site during evening hours, with filming starting between 4 and 5 p.m., which will include interviews with customers. That the filming correlates with the Wednesday wing special - 50 cents a wing from open to close - is likely not a coincidence at a place known for wings; the menu lists 30 sauces, from classic Buffalo-style (listed as BT original) to General Tso or chipotle flavored. …
