POLICE and fire experts investigating the deaths of four children in a devastating blaze have carried out a search of a house in Salford.

Forensic officers and a fire appliance were at the property in Coronation Street, Pendlebury, yesterday.

The operation is linked to the inquiry into the deaths of Lia Pearson, aged three, her sisters Demi, 14, and Lacie, seven, and brother, Brandon, eight, after a fire at their home in Walkden.

The children's mother, Michelle, 35, remained in a drug-induced coma in hospital having suffered severe burns.

A resident of Coronation Street said: "I went out at about 8.30am and the police and fire service were already at the house.

"It is a semi-detached property and the police seem to be searching the house and the garden. …
